Remember when the only men and women who cared about the natural environment were tree huggers as well as hippies? Those days are over, and it seems we all recognize our role in stopping and possibly reversing the damage being done to our planet. The experts are agreed that we cannot change things for the better without everyone’s active involvement. This must happen soon and living in ways more friendly to the environment should become an objective for every individual family. The cooking area is a good place to begin saving energy by going more green.
A lot of electricity is actually wasted when fridges and freezers, both heavy users of electricity anyway, are not operating efficiently. In case you can get a new one, they use about 60% less than the old ones that are more than ten years old. Maintaining the temperature of the fridge at 37F, along with 0F for the freezer, will certainly save on electricity, while keeping food at the correct temperature. Checking that the condenser is clean, which means that the motor needs to run less frequently, will also save electricity.

The ingredients needed to prepare Easy Beef Enchiladas:
- Prepare 1 lb Beef
- Provide 15 oz can of Wolf Brand Chili (no beans)
- Get 8 oz Velveeta pasteurized cheese
- Get 1/2 medium Onion
- You need 6 or 8 Corn Tortillas
- You need 8 oz Pre-Shredded Lettuce
- Provide 4 Roma Tomatoes
Steps to make Easy Beef Enchiladas:
- Pour chili into saucepan and place over low heat, stir occasionally.
- Add beef and chopped onions to skillet. Cook till beef is done and onions are soft. Drain grease.
- While meat is cooking you can chop tomatoes and cut cheese into strips (not thin but not too thick)
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Now grab a tortilla (you may want to warm them first because they may crack when you fold it) and add some meat with onions. Don't forget to add some cheese inside tortillas as well. Fold in half and place in 13x9 pan. Repeat 5-7 more times depending on how much meat you place inside each one.
- Now pour chili over the tortillas. If there is any meat left over I place it on top as well. You should also have cheese left over so add it evenly across the top of the chili. Place pan into oven until cheese melts.
- Now add 2 enchiladas to your plate and top with lettuce, tomatoes, and whatever else you want. My husband likes to put tabasco sauce on top.
