It was not really that long ago that hippies and tree huggers were the only ones to show concern regarding the well-being of the environment. Those days are over, and it appears we all recognize our role in stopping and perhaps reversing the damage being done to our planet. Unless everyone begins to start living a lot more eco-friendly we won’t be able to fix the problems of the environment. Each and every family should start creating changes that are environmentally friendly and they must do this soon. Here are a few tips that can help you save energy, primarily by making your kitchen more green.
You may prefer cooking with your oven, but using a microwave instead will cost you much less money. The energy used by cooking in an oven is greater by 75%, and possibly this little bit of knowledge will spur you on to use the microwave more frequently. Compared with your stove, you can make boiled water as well as steamed vegetables faster, and use quite a bit less energy, by using countertop appliances. You would be forgiven for thinking that an automatic dishwasher uses a lot more energy than washing dishes the old-fashioned way, but you would be wrong. Particularly if you make sure the dishwasher is full prior to starting a cycle. Don’t dry the dishes with heat, utilize the cool dry or air dry options to increase the money you save.
The kitchen alone gives you many small methods by which energy and money can be saved. It is quite straightforward to live green, of course. Largely, all it requires is a bit of common sense.
We hope you got insight from reading it, now let’s go back to authentic handmade udon noodles without getting your hands messy recipe. To make authentic handmade udon noodles without getting your hands messy you need 4 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to prepare Authentic Handmade Udon Noodles without Getting Your Hands Messy:
- Use 210 grams Bread (strong) flour
- Get 90 grams Cake flour
- Prepare 2 tsp Salt
- Take 130 ml Water
Steps to make Authentic Handmade Udon Noodles without Getting Your Hands Messy:
- Mix the bread flour and cake flour together in a bowl. Dissolve the salt in water, and add the water little by little into the bowl with the flour, using cooking chopsticks to mix.
- Add enough water so that it looks crumbly. It's the right amount when it looks like it's a bit too dry. You don't have to use up all the water!
- Put the crumbly mixture in a zip bag or other plastic bag, and gather up into a ball of dough over the bag. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes. (This will evenly distribute the moisture through the dough.)
- Step on the dough over the bag for about 20 minutes. When the dough is flattened, take it out, fold up into thirds, and step on it again. This is the key to making udon noodles with great, springy texture! I always step on it for 40 minutes.
- Form the dough into a square, and rest at room temperature for 1 hour. I've done everything so far without getting my hands all floury!
- Roll out the dough about 3 mm thick. Use either bread flour or cake flour to dust your rolling pin and work surface.
- Fold the dough up into fourths and cut it into 3 mm wide noodles. If the thickness of the dough is 4 mm, if you cut it into 4 mm wide noodles it will look the best. Don't forget to dust the cut noodles with flour as you work.
- Boil in plenty of boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes to produce shiny, beautiful udon noodles. Any noodles you won't be eating right away can be frozen before boiling.
