Remember when the only people who cared about the ecosystem were tree huggers and hippies? That has completely changed now, since we all apparently have an awareness that the planet is having troubles, and we all have a part to play in fixing it. Unless everyone begins to start living a lot more eco-friendly we won’t be able to resolve the problems of the environment. These changes need to start taking place, and each individual family needs to become more environmentally friendly. Here are some tips that can help you save energy, primarily by making your kitchen more green.

Start out with exchanging the lights. This will probably go further than the kitchen, nonetheless that is okay. You should change your incandescent lights by using energy-saver, compact fluorescent light bulbs. These bulbs are energy-efficient which means electricity consumption is actually lower, and, although they cost a bit more to buy, will outlast an incandescent light ten times over. Utilizing these kinds of longer-lasting lightbulbs has the particular benefit that many fewer lightbulbs make it into landfills. It goes further than just exchanging the lights, though; turning off lights that aren’t needed is another good thing to do. In the kitchen is where you’ll regularly find members of a family, and often the lights are not turned off until the last person goes to bed. Obviously this also happens in different rooms, not simply the kitchen. Try keeping the lights off until you absolutely need them, and see just how much electricity you can save.

The kitchen alone provides you with many small ways by which energy and money can be saved. Environmentally friendly living is not that tough. A lot of it truly is merely making use of common sense.

  4. Now add the soaked rice and lentils and saute them.

  7. Now add about 8-10 cups of hot water. Cook the rice covered on medium flame till it starts boiling.
  8. Once it begins to boil, lower the flame and cook the khichuri on mid low flame till all the vegetables and rice are cooked properly. Add more water if necessary. After everything is cooked properly reduce the water to desired consistency. But remember do not make it dry completely as this khichuri should be runny.
